A snake is sneaking up on the powerful eagle and attacking it.
In South Africa’s Kruger National Park, tourists captured an epic battle between an eagle and a snake on camera. According to van Eeden, a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Cape Town who is researching the decline of martial eagles in Kruger National Park, such encounters are infrequently observed and much less frequently documented on video.
The eagle attempted to attack the snake, according to people who posted the video, before flapping his feathers in response to the cobra’s poisonous spit. The fierce serpent was attacking the powerful eagle as they cautiously circled one another. The eagle kept staring at them until he gave up and took off.
Van Eeden asserts that the bird is probably a brown snake eagle looking for a snouted cobra. Johan Marais, a herpetologist from South Africa, claims that the dark banding on the snouted cobra’s throat can be used to identify it.
The largest eagles are brown snake eagles, which may reach wingspans of 5.3 feet and weights of 5.3 pounds (2.4 kilograms). Van Eeden claims that they frequently consume their prey whole and have even been known to consume snakes, including the well-known black mamba.
